Please join us tomorrow tomorrow on Tuesday October 21st at 11:00 AM for our next History Presentation at Krakus Senior Center, part of the Polish and Slavic Center.
This month, we will be honoring Maria Konopnicka – a remarkable Polish poet, writer, and social activist.
We also invite you to take a look at the photo gallery from our September presentation, where we paid tribute to Janusz Kusociński “Kusy” – the legendary Polish track and field athlete and Olympic gold medalist from the 1932 Los Angeles Games in the 10,000-meter run.
He is remembered as a symbol of strength, dedication to sport, and love for his homeland. During World War II, he took part in the resistance and was executed for his patriotic activities.
At the September event, the following members of our community performed on stage, adding heart and emotion to the program with their recitations and reflections: Waldemar Ostrowski, Ola Watras, Margaret Zimmerman, Tadeusz Nowak, Grażyna Ostrowska, Halina Jaworska, Janina Radziejowska, Lucyna Koba, and Barbara Ciura.
We warmly invite you to join us – history lives on when we keep the memory of these remarkable figures alive.
