On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising, the Krakus Senior Center, part of the Polish and Slavic Center, participated in a moving ceremony organized by the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union in front of their Greenpoint headquarters.
Distinguished guests in attendance included:
Anna Maria Anders – daughter of Gen. Władysław Anders, diplomat, former Polish Senator
Rita Cosby – daughter of Ryszard Kossobudzki, Home Army soldier and Uprising veteran
Mateusz Sakowicz – Consul General of Poland in New York
Helena Knapczyk – Siberian deportee, witness to Poland’s tragic past
